Vechtewaren
Grafschaft Bentheim DE
May 2012

An art in public space commission enables a long term project: a branch of the International Village Shop with new production and new sales along the river Vechte

The river Vechte, or Vecht in Dutch, links northwestern Germany and the Netherlands.

It is a flat, productive, protestant landscape, marked by family owned farms and cattle breeding. Vechtewaren gives us the chance to do in one region, what the International Village Shop does on a more extended scale: establishing self initiated collaborative networks of production and trade.

All goods are available at Gaststätte Timmer, the popular pub of the village Ohne, open all days except for tuesdays. They put the cigarette vending maschine away to make space for the Vechtewaren shelves.
